Don't worry - I'm also still trying. I've even had to grow a beard to distract attention from my upper lip. Somebody asked when I was auditioning for Bugsy Malone and I nearly put my fork in their neck.
Also, Paul Dano is a handsome and talented young man. You could be compared to worse!!
